Feed Reader – IE7 (Windows RSS) vs Google Reader

Google Reader 1, IE7 (Windows RSS) 0
I have been using the IE7 beta (and therefore the Windows RSS Platform) to manage my feeds for the last few months. It was doing the job until a month or so ago when I upgraded to Vista RC1. Then for some reason it stopped refreshing the feeds. Not quite the result you are after when you are information hungry like me!
So it was time to try an alternative. First stop was Google Reader. Hmmm my search for a feed reader stopped there. Apparently earlier versions were pretty bad, but the current iteration of the Google Reader beta rocks.
Points I like about Google Reader are:
1) Feeds are online, can get them from anywhere (unlike IE7 where I would need to be on the one machine)
2) Shortcut keys… I am loving switching between news items using j and k. Kind of reminds me of the old days when I was a Unix Admin (who needs a mouse anyway’s!)
I know you are all about to say that there are other feed readers that do the same… but for the near future at least, until either Google Reader screws up, or another feed reader offers me a considerable amount of money to switch, I will be staying put.
