I was talking to a friend today, and he brought up the topic of Social Networking, and in particular LinkedIn.  I have a profile on LinkedIn, but have only really used it to keep track of important contacts, and in some respects illustrate to potential employers that I do have a network of industry contacts that extends beyond my immediate circle of colleagues and friends.

Until today that is…

My friend continued to talk, and mentioned that he had received a number of job offers from some very prominent technology companies (via head hunters) in the last week or two… ever since he updated his job title to accurately reflect what he really does for a living.

Hmmm… is it time to refresh my LinkedIn profile?  Tempting, but for now I am happy with my current job.  Ok, I might update it just in case anyone wants to spend big to get me on board
